Custom flip perfume boxes open with a deliberate motion that makes the bottle reveal part of the experience. A flip lid can present a fragrance in a compact, coordinated package while leaving room to explore how the product sits inside. The opening style is especially useful for brands that want customers to see the bottle as soon as the lid is lifted. Box proportions, lid depth, and internal clearance should all be planned around the actual perfume container. Think about the sequence from the outside to the inside. The front panel can carry the fragrance name and core artwork, while the lid interior can introduce a secondary graphic or a simple color contrast. An insert can hold the bottle in a chosen orientation, with enough access for a customer to lift it out comfortably. A flip style can also be adapted for a single bottle or a set, depending on the size and structure required. The best design reflects the way the fragrance is sold. For a retail collection, keep branding clear enough to distinguish one scent from another at a glance. For a gift edition, focus on the opening experience and the relationship between the box and bottle. Consider how the lid closes, where printed details sit when the box is shut, and whether a finish draws attention to the intended design elements. Sampling the structure before a production run can reveal small fit issues early. Packaging Leaders can work from your bottle dimensions, artwork, and intended presentation to shape a custom flip box. Provide details about any insert, card, or additional item that must fit inside. A well-planned flip box gives the fragrance a recognizable exterior and a reveal that feels natural to the product, from display through unboxing. The finished package should feel comfortable to open and close.

Cut Line (Black Lines):

Indicates the cut at its final size. Important artwork and text should be placed at least 0.125 inches inside of the cut line.

Perforation (Dotted Black Lines):

Perforation line refers to paper that is punched with very small holes to allow the paper to be torn and folded easily.

Bleed Line (Green Lines):

Indicates where the bleed line is located. Any artwork which goes to the cut line should be extended to the bleed line to get a seamless print.

Safety Margin (Dotted Green Lines):

Indicates where artwork and text should safely be placed inside. As an industry standard, all artwork should at least be placed 0.125 inches away from the cut line unless your design is intentional.

Time to Make a Custom Dieline

In the packaging world, a dieline is an artwork template that ensures that the design of your package is laid out correctly before going into production. It is a flat diagram with markings that indicate where the package’s fold and cut lines are. As soon as we’ve received your payment, our packaging wizards will prepare your dieline file and send it over for review within 1-2 business days.

Get Creative with Artwork

Add your artwork to your shiny new dieline template file. Make sure to follow our Artwork Guidelines as you start designing, so we can apply the artwork to your template. These guidelines ensure that the file format and the settings of your artwork (colors, font type, font size, and images) will be ready for mass production.

Visualize Your Packaging with Mockups

Once you’re happy with your template’s design, our team will prepare a 2D and 3D rendering of your packaging for a final review. This allows you to visualize precisely how your custom box will look once printed. This stage is your last opportunity to proofread the text on the box or check for grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors before mass production, make sure to double check! If you’d like to determine whether your chosen material has the feel you want to achieve, we can ship a box sample to you.

Roll-on Production!

Now that everything is approved, it’s time for you to sit back and relax, while we produce your custom shipping boxes. Our packaging wizards will keep in touch with you throughout the process to give you updates on manufacturing and shipping.
